ABOUT ME

In March 2020 I was diagnosed with functional neurological disorder after a lumbar puncture. Initially, this left me with problems using my left leg and every couple of days my right leg would suddenly collapse under me. A couple of weeks later I began to have non-epileptic seizures. On April 12th 2020 I woke up with no feeling or movement below my hips.
My paralysis has seemed to remove a lot of the anxiety I had. Before developing FND I was basically trapped in my room having panic attack after panic attack. However, now I have FND my brain has basically found a way of coping with the world which is to have no concept of my legs. For me, id rather be paralysed with little anxiety than be able-bodied but be trapped in my room. But that's not to say that being disabled is easy which is what i will be discussing in my blog.
